Social publishing
Social publishing lets you turn the content you already manage in Garchi — a page, a data item, an image or a video from your assets — into a post on your social channels, without copying it into another tool.
You write the post, pick where it goes and choose media from your space. Someone with write access approves it, then publishes it straight away or schedules it for later. Garchi keeps each post's history and shows how it did on every channel.
Social publishing is built for distributing your content. It is not a design editor: Garchi does not crop, resize, edit or convert images and videos.
Everything lives under Content ---> Social in the sidebar, and every space has its own channels and posts.
Channels
A channel is a social account connected to a space.
- LinkedIn — text, one image, or one MP4 video.
- Instagram — one image, or one MP4 or MOV video published as a Reel. Instagram is only offered where it has been enabled for your account.
- Facebook Pages — text, one image, or one MP4 or MOV video. Facebook is only offered where it has been enabled for your account. Only Pages are supported; personal Facebook profiles and Groups cannot be connected.
Only the networks you can connect are shown on the Social page.
To connect a channel:
- Go to Content ---> Social.
- Under Channels, click Connect LinkedIn (or Connect Instagram or Connect Facebook if it is offered).
- Sign in on the network and grant access. You come straight back to Garchi.
For Facebook, after signing in you choose which Pages to connect. Only Pages where your role lets you create content can be selected, and each Page you connect becomes its own channel — two Pages are two separate places to publish. To add another Page later, click Connect Facebook again.
You sign in on the network itself. Garchi never sees your password, and the access it is given is never shown in the dashboard or to AI agents.
Instagram needs a professional account — Business or Creator. Facebook asks for permission to see your Pages and publish to them.
Each channel card shows what Garchi can do with that account, such as editing a post's text after it is published. If access expires or is revoked, the card says Needs reconnecting — click Reconnect and sign in again. Nothing publishes to that channel until you do.
Creating a post
- Go to Content ---> Social and click New post.
- Write the Post text. The counter shows the limit of the strictest network you have selected.
- Under Publish to, choose one or more channels.
- Optionally choose what the post is Based on — a page or a data item. A data item's feature image is attached for you. The post keeps its own copy of the text, so editing that page or item later does not change the post.
- Under Media, choose an image or a video from your space.
- Click Create draft.
A draft can be edited as often as you like and is never published by itself.
Every channel you select receives the same text and media. If you want different wording for LinkedIn and Instagram, create a separate post for each.
Media
Posts only use media that is already in Garchi. Picking it creates a reference to the original — nothing is uploaded again, and no extra copy counts towards your storage.
A post contains text only, images, or exactly one video. Choosing a video removes any images from the post, and choosing an image removes the video.
Deleting an asset also removes it from any post that uses it. An approved or scheduled post that loses its media no longer matches what was approved, so it is not published — each channel is marked Skipped and no credits are used. Choose replacement media and approve the post again.
Images
You can use any image from Assets, or a data item's feature image.
- LinkedIn — one image per post.
- Instagram — one image per post, required unless the post has a video. The image must be between 4:5 (portrait) and 1.91:1 (landscape). It is never cropped for you; if it does not fit, choose a different image. Images that are not JPEG, or are larger than 8 MB, are sent to Instagram as a temporary JPEG copy; your original is not changed.
- Facebook Pages — one image per post: JPEG, PNG or GIF, up to 10 MB.
Video
Upload the video in Assets first. Dashboard uploads accept files up to 500 MB on every plan.
- MP4 only.
- Between 75 KB and 500 MB.
Instagram Reels
- MP4 or MOV.
- Up to 500 MB.
- Only where Instagram is available for your account.
Facebook Pages
- MP4 or MOV.
- Up to 500 MB.
- Only where Facebook is available for your account.
Before a video is approved, Garchi checks its file type and size. It does not check codec, duration, frame rate, resolution or audio — the network does that when it receives the video, and it can refuse a file Garchi accepted. If that happens, the channel shows as failed with the network's reason, and no credit is used.
Garchi never converts, compresses or trims video. If a network refuses a file, export a compatible version, upload it to Assets and choose it instead.
Approval
Nothing is published without a person approving it.
- On a draft, click Run approval checks. Garchi checks the post against the rules of every channel you selected — length, media type, image shape, video type and size. If something does not fit, it tells you which channel and why.
- Someone with write access to the space reviews it and clicks Approve. If you have write access yourself, you can approve a draft directly.
Approval applies to the exact post that was reviewed. Changing the text, media or channels of an approved or scheduled post withdraws its approval, and it has to be approved again. A scheduled post that loses its approval does not publish at its scheduled time.
To take back an approval yourself, click Withdraw approval.
Scheduling and publishing
Once a post is approved you can:
- Publish now — publishes to every selected channel straight away.
- Schedule — choose a date and time. Change it with Move, or stop it with Cancel schedule.
Each channel then shows its own status, so a post that went out on LinkedIn but was refused by Instagram says exactly that. When a channel publishes, the post links to it with View on LinkedIn, View on Instagram or View on Facebook.
Posts with video take longer. LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook all process a video before it goes live, so a video post can appear a few minutes after its scheduled time. The channel shows Publishing now until the network confirms it.
After publishing
- Retry is offered when a channel failed. If Garchi could not confirm whether the post went out, it asks you to check the channel first, so the same post is not published twice.
- Edit live post (text only) and Delete from LinkedIn are available for LinkedIn posts. Media cannot be changed once a post is live.
- Instagram does not allow apps to edit captions or delete posts, so manage a published Instagram post in the Instagram app. Garchi can still detect when it has been changed or deleted there.
- Delete from Facebook is available for Facebook Page posts. Editing a published Facebook post, and detecting changes made directly on Facebook, are not available from Garchi yet — do those on Facebook.
- Delete post removes the post from Garchi only. It stays on the network unless you delete it there first.
Publishing credits
Each space has its own publishing credits, counted over the life of the space.
- Sandbox — 2 per space
- Basic — 300 per space
- Pro — unlimited
- Business — unlimited or custom
How credits are used:
- One successful publish to one channel uses one credit. Publishing a post to LinkedIn and Instagram uses 2; adding a Facebook Page makes it 3.
- A failed or cancelled publish uses none. A retry that succeeds uses one.
- Drafts, approvals and schedules use none until the post actually publishes.
- Deleting a published post does not give its credits back.
The Social page shows how many credits the space has used. When none are left you can still write and approve posts, but they cannot be scheduled or published until you upgrade. See the pricing page for every plan.
Working with AI agents
An AI agent connected to Garchi through the MCP server can help with social posts. It can:
- list the space's connected channels
- read your pages, data items and assets to write from
- create posts as drafts and revise their text, media and channels
- attach images and videos that are already in your space
- check a post's status
- send a post for approval
An agent cannot approve, publish, schedule, reschedule, cancel or retry a post, edit or delete a published post, or connect a channel. When it has finished, the post waits in Awaiting approval for you.
Agents cannot upload video. Upload it in Assets, then ask the agent to use it.
If you edit a post an agent wrote — or an agent edits one you approved — the same approval rules apply.
Troubleshooting
A channel says "Needs reconnecting"
Click Reconnect on the channel card and sign in again.
A network is not listed under Channels
It is not available for your account yet.
A Facebook Page cannot be selected, or is missing
Your role on that Page must let you create content, and you must allow every permission Facebook asks for. Check your Page role, then click Connect Facebook again. Personal profiles and Groups are not listed because they are not supported.
"Run approval checks" says the post does not fit a channel
Follow the message: shorten the text, choose a different image or video, or remove that channel.
LinkedIn refuses a MOV video
LinkedIn takes MP4 only. Upload an MP4 version, or publish the MOV to Instagram only.
A channel failed while processing a video
The network could not process the file. Export a version that meets its video requirements, upload it to Assets and try again. No credit was used.
Channels show "Skipped" because the content changed after approval
Something in the post changed after it was approved — for example, its media was deleted from Assets. Fix the post, approve it again and publish.
A post is back in "Awaiting approval" after it was approved
Its text, media or channels were changed after approval. Review it and approve it again.
A post cannot be scheduled or published because credits have run out
Upgrade the plan. Credits are counted over the life of the space and do not reset monthly. Your drafts are kept.
Retry asks you to confirm
Garchi could not tell whether the post went out. Check the network before retrying so the post is not published twice.
